Plant operation at CAO completed

The operation of the HiRECORD pilot plant took place at CAO Natural Chemicals in Volos, Greece, within May–June 2026 and was completed successfully.

The pilot plant

In a world’s first, HiRECORD demonstrates a CO₂ capture plant based on intensified Rotating Packed Bed technology, combined with an advanced solvent:

  • ✓10 t/d CO₂ capture capacity
  • ✓Rotating Packed Bed (RPB) absorber and desorber
  • ✓Advanced APBS-CDRMax solvent
  • ✓Demonstration in a real industrial environment

up to 50% lower capture cost
up to 10× smaller footprint
up to 45% less regeneration energy
